In a strategic move that further solidifies his Hollywood empire, 50 Cent has set his sights on the south, establishing a new studio for his G-Unit Film & TV division in Louisiana. The iconic rapper and entrepreneur recently gained approval from the Shreveport City Council to acquire a substantial studio, marking a significant expansion for his entertainment ventures.

The approval, granted on Tuesday (December 12), signifies a major development in 50 Cent’s foray into the film and television industry. The rapper shared the news on social media, posting a photo of the expansive brick estate along with the caption,

All Roads lead to Shreveport if you ready to work in film and television. G-unit studios Is officially in Louisiana. BOOM GLG GREENLIGHTGANG.”

The lease for the studio will cost 50 Cent $2,400 annually for 30 years, with an option to renew for an additional 15 years. This strategic move not only secures a long-term base for G-Unit Film & Television but also positions Shreveport as a hub for the growing entertainment industry.

Some hip-hop heavyweights including Killer Mike, YG, Fat Joe, and Lala, have expressed their support for 50 Cent’s latest endeavor. Killer Mike applauded the move, stating, “Dope shit!!!!! Bravo black man,” highlighting the significance of 50 Cent’s expansion in the industry.

Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux emphasized the potential impact, stating, “This will bring back, I think, a lot of those people and will rejuvenate that industry in our area. So I think the film industry is about to blossom again in Shreveport.”

The terms of the lease include 50 Cent undertaking all maintenance and repair, amounting to approximately $160 to $170 thousand annually. Mayor Arceneaux emphasized the seriousness of 50 Cent’s proposal, anticipating significant improvements to the facility, potentially totaling several million dollars.

This move follows 50 Cent’s departure from STARZ earlier this year, as he joined the FOX family in a non-exclusive broadcast direct deal. The deal aims to “develop scripted dramas, live-action comedies, and animated series” in collaboration with his G-Unit Film & Television production company.

In the midst of these strategic business moves, 50 Cent continues to stay active in the music scene. Recently, he reunited with fellow Queens native Nicki Minaj for an alternate version of “Beep Beep” from her Pink Friday 2 album.
